When I hear or read about a book or video that interests me, I jot down the name on a scrap of paper and tuck it away for future reference. I am usually working on a story or novel and I don’t have a lot of free time. Sadly, some of these scraps end up in the garbage.

The girl who gets gifts from birds
BBC News Magazine posted this wonderful article by Katy Sewall about a girl who receives gifts from crows.
I have read countless books on crows. Their intelligence never fails to amaze me. I remember watching a crow repeatedly drop a rock on a parked car. Eventually, the alarm went off. The crow and his pals cheered.
I have never watched “Nashville,” but this version of “Boom Clap” by Lennon and Maisy is beautiful.
