Lest we forget!
Remembrance Day 2024
Lest we forget!
Lest we forget!

“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
~Haruki Murakami (b. January 12, 1949)

“She had always wanted words, she loved them; grew up on them.
Words gave her clarity, brought reason, shape.”
~ Michael Ondaatje, The English Patient

Alice Munro (b. 10 July 1931 – d. 13 May 2024)
Just as we were coming to terms with Rex Murphy’s passing,
another great Canadian has departed.
Rest in peace, Alice Munro.

A Canadian treasure! He was one of the greats and he will be missed.
I didn’t always agree with him, but I always looked forward to his columns.
Rest in peace.
Rex Murphy (b. March 1947 – d. May 9, 2024)

“She had always wanted words, she loved them; grew up on them.
Words gave her clarity, brought reason, shape.”
~ Michael Ondaatje (b. 12 September 1943), The English Patient
