Carolyn Watson is a Canadian novelist and short story writer whose work explores the surprising turns of everyday life. She writes character-driven fiction across genres, from literary to speculative, known for its depth, wit, and touch of the unexpected.

Her writing has been nominated for the Canadian National Magazine Award for Fiction, the Writers’ Trust/McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize, and the Alberta Magazine Awards, and her short fiction has appeared widely in literary magazines across North America and the United Kingdom.
Her debut novel, Fleur (Merricat Press, 2025), is a witty, heartfelt coming-of-age story about sisters, family, and small-town life.
Her second novel, Once Around the Graveyard, is due out in 2026.
